Microsoft has really waged war against its competitors, when it allocated $1.5 billion for the marketing of its first ever tablet, the Surface which was launched last month. In spite of less than stellar reviews, the company is still following their aggressive marketing strategy as Microsoft has now seized some serious star power to endorse their new product. The name that is now associated with the product is Oprah Winfrey, who had endorsed the Microsoft Surface tablet as one of her favourite items.

With this, it is not hard to imagine that the Microsoft Surface will be able to grasp the attention of the millions of diehard fans of Oprah Winfrey, who would love to buy or wear whatever their favourite celebrity uses. In the exact words of Winfrey, “The Surface, Microsoft’s first tablet, feels like a Mercedes-Benz to me, people!”

This means that Oprah now has 48 favourite items, including the Microsoft Surface RT. It remains unclear how much Winfrey has charged to Microsoft for this endorsement but one thing for sure is that she has definitely taken a huge portion from the allotted $1.5 billion marketing capital of Bill Gates’ company.

Yet, despite spending billions of dollars on the advertisement of Surface, Microsoft does not seems to be getting the type of feedback they were expecting and the major reason behind is the malfunctioning of various Windows 8 applications. On top of this, both versions of the Surface; the RT and Pro have their limitations which should be addressed as soon as possible so users can enjoy the best this tablet has to offer.

Let’s hope that Microsoft will soon fix these glitches and produce a better product in the future.
