To host and organise a successful event it is necessary that companies pay more attention to creativity just as Canadian startup Mobify has done. The Vancouver-based organization is holding an event next weekend in Vancouver by the name of Morbify that is basically a “murder mystery hackathon.” Mobify has invited Vancouver residents to the event so they can meet with new people and enjoy solving a murder mystery. Here is the unique story behind the “murder mystery hackathon”:

“You’ve just been hired by trendy video game company, Shankworks. Congratulations! On the back of their wildly sucessful first game, StabCat, Shankworks has been on a hiring spree. You are one of 30 new employees starting at Shankworks HQ on the same day!

Eager to eclipse the success of StabCat with an even better product, all new employees have been issued a challenge: create Shankworks Inc’s next big viral hit by creatively gamifying some everyday tasks. You’ll work in teams, and the team with the best product by the end of the day will be showered with glory. What a great opportunity!

But things at Shankworks Inc are not what they seem. Another company, Doodle, is making overtures to aquire the company at an incredibly high valuation. The team is strongly divided over the decision. Who stands to win? Who stands to lose? Who has the motive… for murder!”

Explaining the concept behind the hackathon, Mobify said that, “The goal for teams is to identify tasks that people do every day and find ways to make them more fun. Does your daily commute bore you? Are you annoyed by the processes of dental hygiene? Do you wish you had more incentive to recycle?”

The tickets for Morbify have seen a large demand and are already sold out. It will give Vancouverites access to the device testing laboratory of Mobify, its private demo rooms, mystery clues related to murder, “incredibly awesome awards” and a collection of communication tools for teams. According to TechVibes, “The hackathon may be sold out—a testament to the event’s refreshing creative approach—but you can still buy a ticket to the Friday Night Social at EXP on March 22.”

Mobify is a fastest growing technology company in Vancouver that actually builds next gen of adaptive web products. At this point in time more than 75,000 developers are using Mobify to acclimatize their websites for tablets and other mobile devices.
