Achieving fitness goals is not an easy task as usually the majority of the people start searching for shortcuts a few days after following a fitness regime because either they fail to discipline themselves or do not succeed in managing their timetable. Others remain unsuccessful in running that extra 2 kilometres distance or shed an additional 20 pounds of fat.
Therefore, to motivate and find an easy to follow solution to get fit for the average person, Garrett Gottlieb and Phil Jacobson together founded a mobile tech startup called PumpUp back in May 2012.
This Waterloo based startup has just launched its services through which every user can get a customized high-quality workout plan for themselves. PumpUp made these tailored workout plans for people by asking them some questions about their fitness goals, equipment they prefer to use and where they like to work out.
It is because these reasons that PumpUp is not only ideal for those who wish to take their physical condition to the next level, but it is also best for users who do not have a clue where to start or what to do.
As the CEO of PumpUp, Phil Jacobson says that “People aspire to be fit and live a healthy life but most people find difficulty in reaching their goals. We’re simplifying the experience by asking you what you want and taking care of the rest. Getting fit doesn’t have to be tough; people just need to be shown what to do.”
Currently PumpUp is located in the startup incubator of University of Waterloo, which is known as the VeloCity Garage and its app can be downloaded free of charge from Apple’s App Store. However, to sign up for annual subscription users have to pay $4.99 for each month, but to celebrate their launch this annual fee of PumpUp has been reduced to $2.99 for each month throughout January 2013.
