After getting acquired by Google, Motorola Mobility unveiled its brand new logo last month. This is one of the many changes that Motorola has undergone after the acquisition, but the most important transformation is going to be the launch of the much rumoured Moto X Phone by the company that is expected to release sometime during this fall. So far the handset has only made appearance in alleged leaked images, as Motorola has not officially released the images of the Moto X Phone. However, now Motorola is gearing up to run the first ad of its flagship smartphone, according to the latest update. Ad Age was the first to show the ad that is certainly depicting some Google influence as well as the newly designed logo for Motorola.
The focal point of the new Motorola ad is around the July 4th festivities and also flaunts the fact that the new device is assembled in the U.S. According to Motorola’s VP-global brand and product marketing, Brian Wallace said during an interview that, “What we are doing which is very different is assembling [Moto X smartphones] here in the U.S. in our assembly plant in Ft. Worth, Texas. What better time than July 4th to come with a message like that?”
Although, the ad had not show any images of the Moto X, it does focus on the fact that the new smartphone will be “designed by you” and fully customisable. This proves all the previous reports true, which claimed that the next gen flagship smartphone of Motorola would be built-to-order. This means that every user can have a different phone.
Mr. Wallace said, “Smartphones are very different than other tech products a consumer owns. They’re closer to shoes or a watch. You carry it with you everywhere you go. Everyone sees what phone you’re carrying and they judge you on it. Yet, it’s the one thing you carry that’s the least customizable.”
This first ad from Motorola’s Moto X Phone can be seen in the July 3rd editions of the Wall Street journal, Washing Post, The New York Times and USA Today. As far as the specs for the upcoming smartphone is concerned, rumour has it that Moto X will boast a 1.7GHz dual-core processor along with a 4.7-inch screen that will sport a 720p resolution and will run the free Android Jelly Beam 4.2 OS from Google. It is also said that the next gen smartphone from Motorola will feature 2GB of RAM, 10-megapixel of rear camera as well as a 2-megapixel front facing camera and 16G of internal memory.
