Most electric bicycle designs seem to focus on the technology and not on design and aesthetics. The NCycle, a concept e-bike, breaks the mold with its great looks and other features. Users can fold the bike, fiddle with the holographic display, theft proof their property with the innovative locking system or use the hidden pockets built into the frame.

The slender concept electric bike was created by designers Skyrill and Marin Myftiu who talk about their bike by saying that,”Doing away with cables, most of the system consists of the handle bar itself. With dual handles for multiple positions and comfort, the handle bar is appropriately loop-shaped to fit most of the poles and steel bars in the city. Closing the loop when locked is again a hardened steel tube sliding from one of the handles, which makes the locking [mechanism] virtually impossible to break or cut with any kind of man-powered pliers, in the end, making it almost impossible to steal the vehicle.

Other than security the e-bike also solves the problem of unattractive baskets to carry luggage or other objects. The designers made a retractable pocket that has a permanent space between the metal plates of the bike. After using it a rider can slide the bag back into place. Other cool features on the NCycle include a fordable frame that can pack up the bike in two seconds. The handle bars also offer headlights along with the locking system.

Innovative design also allows for several modern creature comforts including built-in speakers that can connect to digital music devices through Bluetooth. The holographic display can also be connected to a smartphone and be interacted with using touch sensors place din the handlebars.

NCycle’s concept is just an idea for now and the designers have not proven that all their features will work in real life. However, the slick design is attractive and the creators warn that the lithium ion battery-powered bike will not come cheap compared to standard bikes.
