There is lot of excitement in the tech world since LG rolled out a press invite for its August 7th event. It is widely anticipated that the South Korean manufacturer will unveil its much rumoured successor to the Optimus G flagship smartphone, the G2, at the event. However, LG has not officially announced the launch of the new smartphone at the upcoming event and no images of the new handset have surfaced online. However, Engadget has now published some detailed and clear images of LG G2 along with a video which shows the smartphone in its full glory. In addition to this, the newly leaked high-resolution images and video of LG G2 have confirmed several specs of the forthcoming device. The screen size of the flagship phone looks to be 5.2-inches and it has extremely small bezels that gave it an edge-to-edge look.
As far as the overall visual appearance of LG G2 is concerned it looks more like a Nexus 4 rather than its predecessor, the Optimus G. The G2 has a rounded design as compared to the block design of its predecessor and instead of having volume buttons on its sides, the handset have them on its back. In between these volume buttons users will find the rear camera lens. However, previously leaked images and several reports had indicated this change in the successor of Optimus G phone.
The most significant spec which was corroborated through the latest leaked video was that LG G2 will be the first device to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. It is said that the new chipset is clocked at 2.3 GHz and it will be supported by 2GB of RAM. As far as the camera on the upcoming device is concerned, the G2 will carry a 13-megapixel camera on its back and right under it LG has integrated volume controls.
The leaked video has also revealed that G2 seems to be running Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and it features a heavy LG skin. Apart from this, the newly leaked images of G2 have also divulged that instead of having back, home and open application buttons at its bottom, the smartphone has them on its screen. Sources claim that G2 is much slimmer than the Nexus 4 and at the same time it is “very comfortable” to use.
Currently we have to stick with the aforementioned specs of G2, as officially LG will roll out complete details of its specs on August 7, which will eventually confirm the features of the flagship smartphone.
