Nokia has been going through some tough times because of the rise of smartphones and competitors like Samsung and Apple. The beleaguered company has tried to push back with new phones and its latest partnership with Microsoft and its Windows Mobile OS. Rumors online also indicate that Nokia may be jumping into the tablet market with a device of their own. Reports indicate that the Finnish multinational will be once again looking at Microsoft to power their device with the software developers latest Windows RT operating system version. It has also been reported that the size of Nokia’s slate will most likely be 10.1 inches. The buzz also indicates that the mobile set manufacturer will lift the curtain on their latest device at the Mobile Word Congress that is scheduled to be held in February 2013.
So far Nokia has neither acknowledged nor denied the reports. According to the latest update from The Verge, sources have confirmed the tablet will be read “in early 2013.”
In addition to this, the slate from Nokia will also prove to be a rival for Microsoft Surface RT that was launched by the software giant recently and is still struggling to find its feet in the tablet industry. The latest reports also point out that Nokia’s tablet will not only sport a battery-equipped cover that “clicks in” much like like Microsoft’s Surface, it will also feature a built-in kickstand, 10 hour battery backup and two USB ports.
But the major difference that users may see in Nokia’s tablet is that it could have cellular connectivity. As far as the camera and the official name of Nokia’s tablet is concerned there is no update available on these features at the moment.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the Finland based company will include its upcoming tablet in its Pure View line-up an name the rumored device the Pure View tablet.
