Rumours have indicated earlier that Finnish mobile maker, Nokia is developing a phablet alike its rival companies Samsung and LG, but it will be powered by Microsoft Windows Phone OS instead of Google’s very own Android operating system. However, none of these rumours received any confirmation, but now a leading media outlet The Verge has claimed that it has some confirm news regarding the Nokia phablet. According to the initial rumours Nokia’s phablet will boast a 5.5 or 6-inch display and it resolution would be 1080p that will make it the first ever 1080p Windows Phone device.

However, The Verge on the other hand has claimed that the forthcoming phablet of Nokia is referred as Bandit and it will feature a 6-inch display with 1080p resolution. In addition, it is anticipated that the 6-inch phablet will be the first Windows Phone device that will sport a quad-core processor, as it will be powered by Qualcomm chipset. Nevertheless, it is not clear whether it will incorporate a Snapdragon chip or any other chip. As far as the camera on the device is concerned The Verge reports that it will be “at least 20 megapixels.”

This is not all the report also mentioned that Bandit will be powered by the updates version of Windows Phone 8, GDR3. This new version of the Windows Phone is introduced in this phablet not only to give users access to new features like Driver Mode and orientation lock, but it was also required to light up the 1080p display of the device. In the light of these superlative specs one can expect a lot from Nokia’s upcoming phablet.

It is said that currently Nokia is testing the units of Bandit on AT&T’s network and the company is planning to launch its first ever phablet sometime at the end of this year. But rumour has it that Nokia phablet may see the first light in November. But it is not confirmed yet, as the Finnish handset producer has not disclosed any details regarding its much rumoured phablet.

But if The Verge’s report turned out to be true then, it is highly likely that Nokia will be able to once again boost its market share in the cellphone market, as earlier big tech companies like Apple and Samsung pushed the company down with their inspiring range of handsets. So with this phablet Nokia has a chance to bounce back in the big game.
