Alleged images of HTC and LG’s latest handsets that surfaced online have revealed what both companies are going to announce this month. HTC is holding a big event on February 19 just a few days before the 2013 Mobile World Congress, while LG had already send out invitations of its MWC press meeting on February 25th means that both companies have something to announce and in this case it is probably new devices. Buzz about the products of some other companies which will make appearances at MWC are also making the rounds but Finnish mobile maker Nokia has been quite. It seems that the company is looking to surprise everyone, and according to the latest reports Nokia might announce a Microsoft Windows based tablet at MWC. The report also claims that this new tablet from Nokia could be called 3390, but so far nothing is official yet.

The proof of Nokia tablet came across during a Nokia event held in Pakistan, when according to the report, an image of this slate appeared on the big screen for a short moment, but the company did not mention anything about this new device. Nevertheless, the image on the screen gives us a clue that the new tablet is likely to have a 7 to 8-inch screen and it will be powered by the latest edition of Microsoft Windows. In this image the Nokia tablet was found sitting next to a Nokia 610 and most probably a Surface Pro device.

If this report proves true then, it will be great revelation from Nokia because the multinational corporation has let some details slip about its future plans but it has never revealed that it is creating a tablet. However, since Nokia is trying to develop its mobile ecosystem around Windows, seeing its latest OS version on the Nokia tablet was not a surprise, but adding a tablet to its product line was definitely an unexpected move.

Nokia is already struggling with its Windows based smartphones and today there is cut throat competition in the tablet market because more and more electronic manufacturers are throwing in new slates. Still one cannot discard Nokia because they can grab a good market share with a budget Windows 8 or RT tablet because Apple’s iPad and Microsoft’s Surface RT have the same price tag, whereas Macbook or Ultrabook costs buyers as much as a Surface Pro.

Before that we have to see whether Nokia announces its tablet at the upcoming Mobile World Congress or not.
