Nokia declared on Tuesday, July 9th that it has made the Yahoo-powered Nokia Chat beta messaging app available for download for all Lumia device users. In addition to this, the Finnish manufacturer also made it known that for the first time it has introduced the service in several new countries. On this occasion the Nokia Beta Labs team wrote in a post that users can now, “Connect with Nokia Chat friends who use Lumia, Asha, S40, and Symbian devices, and those using Yahoo! Messenger on other mobile devices and platforms. Our cross-platform support lets you reach millions of people across a wide range of mobile devices and computers.”
Initially, Nokia did not make the Chat messaging app available in countries like Turkey, Italy, Brazil, and several others. However, now all Lumia users can download the app right away. The app itself is not much different from the rest of the chat applications available in the market, as it enables users to get in touch for person to person messaging through Yahoo Messenger and Nokia’s own platform. Besides this Lumia users will be able to receive live updates or get push notifications even when the Nokia Chat beta is not running.

“We’re happy to announce worldwide availability of the Nokia Chat beta for Lumia phones. You can now download Chat for your Lumia in all the countries where we currently offer the Nokia Chat service. We know that a lot of you in Vietnam, Brazil, Italy, Turkey, and many other countries have been waiting for this day. So have we!
Currently, Nokia Chat for Lumia phones has been translated into English and Spanish. More languages will be added in the future. And of course, we’re already working on the next version, which we hope to share with you shortly. Until then, enjoy our current 1.1 beta release on your Lumia!
