The semantic search application from Nuance Communications now known as Dragon Mobile Assistant has announced that it has updated its set of features late last week. With these newly added features, Dragon Mobile Assistant has become even more luring for Android phone users.

Android faithful can now play music by simply articulating the title of the song or the name of a specific artist from their song library. Plus, users can also open apps of other parties with the voice command. Aside from playing music and opening third-party apps, Dragon Mobile Assistant has also enabled users to set alarms through voice commands. Although the alarm feature is not a very big addition, it is still considered a very useful and smart enhancement that Nuance Communications has introduced within this app.

In addition, while developing this latest edition of Dragon Mobile Assistant, Nuance Communications did not forget those users who are using mobile phones that are powered by old operating system such as Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Along with the Jelly Bean 4.0, 4.1 and Ice Cream Sandwich this app is also available for Gingerbread phone users.

Though the app is currently available in beta version, users can download it from the Google Play store in the U.S. only.

Surprisingly, Nuance Communications did not introduce an iPhone version of this mobile voice assistant app because Dragon Mobile Assistant is at par when it comes to competing with Siri. However, this does not mean that the company would not bring in an iOS version of their app because Nuance Communications has promised that they will introduce a version of the app for Apple products as well.
