The social discovery mobile GPS dating app has stated that just before Valentine’s Day 2013, SinglesAroundMe has witnessed a 300 percent increase in daily downloads collectively in all three versions including iPhone, BlackBerry and Android. This was a remarkable feat for the dating app that uses GPS so its users can get in touch with singles in their region, which creates the opportunity for singles to unexpectedly meet with someone around them, who has similar interests. If they are at home and want to hide their location they can do so, but if they choose to switch their location to ‘Approximate,’ it displaces them outside of their immediate neighborhood. If they are out or feeling engaged they could switch their location to exact and meet people close by.”
