After dispatching Pebble watches to all kickstarter backers who ordered the smart watch in its black colour, the Canadian company has finally shifted its focus to the production of coloured variants of the watch, a move that proved to be more complicated than initially anticipated. Pebble was initially unable to produce the different colours at the same time and were forced to make the watch one colour at a time. After shipping Pebble in black the company intends to follow the same plan, as first it will roll out the watch in red, then orange and after that in grey or white.

“We expect the first red Pebbles to be in our distribution centres and ready for shipping in 2-3 weeks, but do not yet have a projected date for the other colour Pebbles. Orange will be next, with Grey/White following. We will provide updates as we have more specific information.”

Those, who have changed their mind and now want a black Pebble watch instead of the coloured one can still exchange it by simply signing into “account.getpebble.com” in order to make the swap. Pebble will refund the extra money it has charged to such kickstarter backers and their black smart watch will be shipped in two week’s time.

Apart from this, Pebble also declared that the new watch faces fro the 12 hour version of their device are also accessible now from the watch library. In order to make these popular watch faces work, consumers need to make sure that they have the correct 12/24 settings on their watches.

Earlier, Pebble shipped the first batch of its watches at the end of January, but it only managed to dispatch just 500 smart watches as the company was facing problems related to production which had delayed the shipments previously as well. However, addressing a press meeting at the 2013 CES Pebble promised that it will ship the first batch on January 23, although, it was quite a small quantity but the company managed to keep its promise.

Folks who are not familiar with the smart watch, here is a slight description about the Pebble watch. Unlike traditional watches Pebbles uses a customized OS that runs third-party apps on the device to customize its functions. The watch has Bluetooth connectivity that links it with an Android handset or iPhone after which it displays the information from the device.

Pebble is not only water-resistant, but also uses a battery that can keep it alive up to 7 days after recharging. As far as the display of the watch is concerned it boasts a 12.6-inch screen.
