An absolute picture based internet source known (and used) by most, Pinterest has finally decided to make themselves available for commercial usage. This is tremendous news for tech savy companies who understand the importance and impact of the highly addictive and engaging website to their potential business.

The decision to change an internal company policy is the main reason for bringing about this change. The site’s ever increasing usage by various brands to display product that speaks for itself has made the platform a viable social networking site. As a result of that Pinterest decided to change its rules from November 14 onward by launching Pinterest for Business to reach its potential.

This new business page will allow corporations as well as small businesses to create their official accounts on Pinterest in order to get creative with the promotion of their businesses and wares using the free website. Explaining this new move, Product Manager of Pinterest, Cat Lee stated on company’s blog that, “If your organization is new to Pinterest, sign up on Pinterest for a business account. Existing accounts on Pinterest can be easily converted by following the steps on the business site. Signing up on our business site allows you to specify your business name (instead of first name and last name) and go through an optimized new user flow…”

The flow will provide for authentication and validated accounts using the feature within Twitter. In addition to this, other added advantage of opening official accounts with Pinterest is that companies and businesses can add more buttons in their website that will help integrate the visitor experiencing by making the pinning of items seamless.

Aside from this, Pinterest has also developed another website from where businesses can get innovative case studies, documentation and practices. The objective behind offering this content was to, “help businesses interact with people the right way.” Kudos to Pinterest for embracing the fact that there is no such thing as too many good companies.
