Popular Messaging Service ‘Line’ Gains More Than 200 Million Users Worldwide

The popular mobile messaging service Line revealed on Tuesday, July 23rd that it has achieved a new milestone by surpassing 200 million downloads internationally. The Japan-based service stated on this occasion that it has been able to achieve this mark by adding 50 million new users from May and 100 million in the last six months.

Line has been able to gain this huge user base in just two years time frame, as it was launched back in June 2011. Since then, the free text messaging and voice calling service has made a lot of progress, as it has extended its operations into connected applications and social games. Moreover, Line is available on different mobile platforms, which includes Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Nokia Asha and Windows Phone. In addition to this, you will also find it has clients for Mac and PC.

According to the company it is witnessing particular growth in two regions Latin America and Southeast Asia, where India is at the top and recently it has also pushed itself in Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Philippines, Peru, Colombia and Argentina.
