The Raspberry Pi has recently unveiled its forthcoming camera board, which they will make available for sale in 2013. The price of this latest product will be around $25 in line with the extremely cost effective device.
This 5 megapixel camera from Raspberry Pi has the capability to capture 30fps video and 1080P. Users will be able to plug this camera in the header pins of their hobbyist board in order to make video or capture images with it. The results of this 5 megapixel camera is said to be quite impressive, as it produces quality images.
Raspberry Pi showcased the prototype of this camera board at Electronica 2012, but it was not properly mounted as they used scotch tape technology to attach it. However, the Pi foundation assured that when they will ship this product in 2013 it would be properly mounted.
Aside from this, the company behind the Raspberry Pi also made known that they had finally created their own version of Minecraft called Minecraft Pi Edition. Raspberry Pi made this move because earlier its education-oriented, Linux-powered, credit-card-sized computer was not able to run Minecraft.
This Pi edition of Minecraft is not an exact copy of Minecraft game for PC users. In fact it’s a port of Minecraft, which can be determined as a pocket edition for both iOS and Android based devices. Shedding light on this endeavour from Raspberry PI their Community Manager, Liz Upton wrote in the pronouncement that, “It’ll carry a revised feature set and support for several programming languages, so you can code direct into Minecraft before you start playing. (Or you can just—you know—play)”.
