Research In Motion (RIM), the makers of the Blackberry smartphone have gone through some tough times in the past year and the launch of their new mobile platform has been delayed several times. Due to this reason many users of Blackberry shifted to other devices that are powered by Android and iOS.

However, it now seems that RIM has finally been able to offer something tangible to its devotees, as the company has revealed major details regarding their upcoming devices and platform as the company’s latest product launch approaches. The Canadian firm has also declared that it will be launching BB10 and related products in the early months of 2013. This time, new Blackberry devices will come out in two different versions; one of them will be a touch screen edition while the other will feature a traditional QWERTY keyboard.

The validity of this news can be judged from the fact that RIM has recently sent invites to some key politicians of Ottawa in order to give them a first look at their upcoming Blackberry 10. This invite reads, “Get a sneak peek of BlackBerry 10, the next generation mobile platform that will change everything.”

At this event, government officials will go through the new Blackberry 10 operating system while also receiving the opportunity to interact with top RIM executives. The list of invitees includes MPs, their subordinates, regional caucus members as well as members from Industry Canada. The event will take place in downtown Ottawa at Fairmont Chateau Laurier on November 7.

RIM is confident that they will overwhelm Parliament Hill with the “sneak peek” of their next big thing. The reason for inviting politicians at this event was that they remain the ones who are the most loyal consumers of RIM’s devices because each member gets a Blackberry when he or she takes the job. The smartphone is given to them because of its encryption system. This system protects confidential information that politicians share over a secure medium called Blackberry Messenger or BBM. Due to this reason government officials always prefer to use BBM instead of a normal email, to avoid any lapse in security.

Moreover, it is because of this very system that Blackberry has been able keep the stack of its usual consumers along with Parliamentarians in spite of highly waged competition from devices like Samsung S III and Apple’s iPhone 5.
