Apple’s CEO Tim Cook is considered a methodical person when it comes to running the company. In fact Cook is generally painted even more methodical than the former CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs. However, some might not agree with this statement, as they believe that what Jobs had done for Apple, Cook would not be able to achieve even half of that for the company. Nevertheless, Reuters a popular media outlet has published a profile of Cook recently in which he was described as a leader with a  ‘no non-sense’ attitude. In fact, the Reuters’ profile has even claimed that under the two year long leadership of Cook Apple has changed a lot.

This indicates that after taking over from Jobs back in August 2011 when the former CEO decided to step down from his post due to declining health condition, Cook has done extremely. According to the profile another reason for rating Cook over Jobs is that he is socially more concerned than the former CEO, which could be judged from his stance regarding the improvement of working conditions in a factory located in China.

However, this does not mean at all that Cook is too soft on his employees, as some times they had found him pretty hard and pushing them to limit in order to achieve perfection just like Jobs used to do. In addition to this, Cook also attends meetings of the company, where people have found him completely unreadable and quiet. The CEO of Apple attends these meetings with both his hands holding together and quietly listens to the proceedings.

In fact a mentioning an anonymous source Reuters highlighted in the profile that Cook “could skewer you with a sentence.” Here are few more excerpts from the original profile:

“Cook is known as a workaholic who guards his privacy closely. People who know him well paint a portrait of a thoughtful, data-driven executive who knows how to listen and who can be charming and funny in small group settings.

Still, he has a tough side. In meetings, Cook is so calm as to be nearly unreadable, sitting silently with hands clasped in front of himself. Any change in the constant rocking of his chair is one sign subordinates look for: when he simply listens, they’re heartened if there is no change in the pace of his rocking.”

It is perhaps because of these fine qualities Cook faced no problem in getting the vote of confidence during this month when an activist investor Carl Icahn divulged that he holds a large position in the company’s stock.
