In order to make its BlackBerry 10 platform successful Research In Motion has made many changes to its upcoming devices and marketing tactics. The Canadian smartphone manufacturer has also changed the name of its app store from BlackBerry App World to just Blackberry World to show that their online store offer more than just apps. And now according to the latest announcement from the Waterloo-based company, it has also changed the name of the BlackBerry World conference to BlackBerry Live. The reason for making this change is understandable because after omitting the word “app” from its app store, RIM has no choice left except to find a new name for its BB conference. Apart from the name no other changes were made to the conference, as RIM said that the event will take place as usual from May 14 to 16 in Orlando.

Moreover, the BlackBerry maker also said this week that, “This year’s BlackBerry Live conference is going to be a very exciting event for us here at RIM, our attendees, partners, carriers, and customers. We’re already well underway with the planning, and the timing couldn’t be better on the heels of our launch of BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.”

RIM has also made it known that the attendees of its BlackBerry Live conference will be able to have hands on experience with the BB10 platform. Plus they also get to meet with the creators of the platform and get to know about the company’s future.

Talking about the new name of the BlackBerry conference, RIM confirmed that, “we love the new name,” and “it comes with a hugely positive outlook and a very exciting year for BlackBerry technology.”
