Rogers New Cellular Plan

Today telecom companies in Canada are enjoying decent customer bases as the number of cell phone users in the country are increasing rapidly. Thanks to the new generation of smartphones, demand is stronger than it has ever been for data plans. The telecom companies in the country also understand this fact and as result, they had also upgraded their networks to provide fast services to their customers.

Since upgrading said networks, the next likely step for them was the introduction of new cellular plans. Rogers came out of the blocks first, as the company introduced a group of four newly active plans for their wireless internet and smartphone customers on November 7 that are bit more expensive and thorough than their existing packages.

Since these plans have been designed by keeping the users in mind, they offer great value for money, especially when it comes to voice minutes and data-heavy devices like Nokia Lumia 920 and Samsung Galaxy Note II.

As an entry level plan, Rogers offers 1,000 voice minutes and 200 MB wireless internet along with few other features. Canadians, who want unlimited local voice minutes can get a  ‘Social’ plan for just $65 instead of $55 plan (Occasional), in which they will also get 1 GB wireless internet. Folks who want their smartphones to stretch further can opt to choose a $75 ‘Streamer’ plan or $95 ‘Connected’ plan in order to receive 3GB and 5GB wireless internet connections respectively. The added advantage of having a $95 plan is that it gives you unlimited Canada-Wide voice minutes.

This initiative from Rogers seems to be inspiring other Canadian carriers too, as TELUS and Bell have also decided to launch their new plans on November 8 and 9 respectively as imitating cellular plans is not unusual in Canada.
