Rogers Communications, Canada’s largest provider of wireless voice and data communication services, is hopeful of securing huge revenue through its “machine-to-machine” connections, also known as M2M connections, estimating that their total revenue would cross over $100 million by 2015. The company also expects to see an increase in its user database by the end of this year.

The booming market of the wireless connections will see Rogers providing M2M connections to more than one million users this year. Rogers is up for extracting maximum gains out of this market, and providing wireless connections is not the only thing the company has in mind. The Globe and Mail quoted Rogers chief executive officer Nadir Mohamed as saying:

“It is growing by leaps and bounds. The (wireless) connection is just the starting point. What we are really talking about is businesses transforming how they work with their employees, how they interact with their customers.”

According to Rogers Newsroom, the CEO is of the view that in this digital world people are getting connected with each other increasingly and that information between many sectors is shared. This has also created a room for business operators to provide better services and make good profits. Mr. Nadir Mohamed said:

“As a business, we expect to surpass one million M2M connections before end of year. To position Canada at the forefront, we are making investments in networks, strategic partnerships, and big data and analytics platforms to build a robust ecosystem that will power a connected future for Canada.”
