It seems that as the release date of Research In Motion Ltd.’s upcoming Blackberry 10 is drawing near, the handsets and platform are gaining an increasing amount of lime light. Ofttimes the forthcoming smartphone grasps headlines because of of a photo leak and other times because of its features and traits.

However, this time around, BlackBerry 10 has gained headlines because one of the largest telecom carriers in Canada, Rogers Communications has announced an exclusive offer for its current customers. According to this announcement, the company’s current wireless consumers are now able to place orders for BB10 smartphones starting Monday of this week.

Apart from this information, Rogers Communications has not given out any other details like specifications, availability or pricing of this latest devices, as BB10’s global launch date (January 30, 2013) is still relatively far away.

One of the few clues about this new smartphone that Rogers Communications will be offering to its customers is that the telecom carrier is taking pre-orders for only the “all touch” device of RIM. This means that Rogers Communications’ customers will not be able get the famous QWERTY keypad smartphone RIM will be offering.

Earlier, RIM had announced that they would be providing free BB10 handsets and software to 120 companies in the U.S. so they can try out this new platform before the 2013 launch. Both these efforts were a part of RIM’s plan, as the company is looking to create hype about their latest smartphone series, a move that seems to be bearing some fruit thus far.
