The Samsung Galaxy Note II has been made available for sale in the U.S., but those of us who call Canada home are still awaiting the latest Samsung device. At this point, it has been confirmed that the innovative ‘phablet’ will be released in Canada on October 30, so with each passing day an increasing amount of hype and speculation regarding the Note II’s price is hitting the web, as no Canadian carrier has yet to reveal the device’s price point.
The aforementioned carriers that will be launching the Galaxy Note II in Canada are Rogers, Mobilicity, Bell, WIND Videotron, SaskTel and TELUS. All these carriers will offer Note II at different prices, resulting in even more speculation.
The first Canadian carrier to come forward with concrete price points is Rogers. Canada’s largest wireless service provider has priced Samsung’s phone/tablet Galaxy Note II at $649.99 with month to month contracts along with a subsidized price of $199 with a three year term. It has also been revealed that Bell will be selling the Note II for $729.95 without a contract.
In contrast to Canada, most of the carriers in America are offering Galaxy Note II at $299.99. Although this comparison is not valid, given that there are differences between the standard length of contracts between the two countries, one would be hard pressed to say that Canadians are getting a bad deal if the offer price of Note II would be the same as Mobile Syrup leaked in the screenshot of a Rogers’ invoice.
The 5.5″ Note II that will be launched in Canada at the end of this month and will feature the latest version of Android, known as Jelly Bean 4.1. The powerful and innovative device is likely to be another hit for Korean device maker Samsung as the world’s largest smartphone maker adds to their impressive arsenal.
