The developer behind the popular Angry Birds game, Rovio Entertainment, made it known on Monday, June 10th that they had hired Teemu Suila as their new Chief Operating Officer. Besides this, prior joining Rovio, Sailu also helped Nokia in streamlining and developing its operations and strategies.

It is important to mention here that weeks before the appointment of Sailu, Rovio declared that it hired CEO Mika Ihamuotila from famous designing company Marimekko, who is also an experienced entrepreneur and a fourth board-level director. These two high-level appointments suggest that Rovio is looking to launch a IPO.

Currently, Rovio has more then, 650 staff members in its headquarters in Finland, Espoo, United States, South Korea, Japan, Sweden and Tamapere. Sales of the company for the year 2012 were close to $195 million and the game developing company has witnessed a increase of 101 percent in its earnings a year before.

As far as the former COO of Rovio, Harri Koponen is concerned he has been given a new role as one of the investors of Rovio.

Koponen said in a statement that, “I’m proud to have had the possibility to contribute to a company like Rovio. My expertise was needed to take the business to this point and now is a good time to pass over the reins. I will stay in the family by moving over into business development to Rovio’s main shareholders investment company.”
