After launching its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S IV during a mega event in New York City, the South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung is now once again gearing up to host another major release. Samsung has declared on Monday, May 27th through a press release on its official website that a new event is soon going to take place in which brand new Galaxy and ATIV mobile devices will “premier”. According to the press release, the event will take place at Earls Court 2, London on June 20th and those, who are not in the region, can watch it live on the corresponding YouTube channel from Samsung where it will be live streamed from 6pm BST/ 1pm ET/ 10am PT onwards. Here is what the original teaser poster of Samsung says:
“SAMSUNG PREMIER 2013, GALAXY & ATIV, Thursday, 20th June, 2013, Earls Court 2, London (Earls Court exhibition Centre, Warwick Road, London, United Kingdom).”
“Doors opens at 18:00, Event begins at 19:00, Livestreaming www.youtube.com/SamsungMobile.”
Besides this description, the teaser poster also features three images of Samsung’s upcoming devices that will entice you by giving a slight glimpse of future devices. So people can imagine what the new devices may actually look like. Apart from this Samsung has not revealed any other detail regarding the forthcoming event and devices.
However, rumour has it that the smaller edition of S IV most probably be called the Galaxy S IV Mini may premier at this event. But there is also a possibility that we may probably see the launch of multiple mobile devices at this event, as Samsung has a history of launching numerous Android-based devices simultaneously.
As far as the ATIV portfolio of Samsung is concerned the Korean company has so far produced various Windows-based handsets under this category, but these devices did not make much impact. In spite of it, the last ATIV S phone of Samsung was able to gather some good reviews.
Still it was not enough to beat Nokia, as the Finnish mobile maker holds the majority of the share when it comes to international Windows Phone market. In fact, latest data report has indicated that Nokia has taken over the third spot from BlackBerry, as it has produced more handsets than the Waterloo-based company. As a result of that now Nokia has become the third best platform after Apple and Samsung.
Therefore, it would not be a surprise if Samsung will announce Windows-based devices at its forthcoming event in June, as it would love to boost its sales in this space as well.
