Android 4.1, Jelly Bean is the latest version of the popular Android OS and it is much smoother and faster than this previous edition. Therefore, Android fans around the world are eagerly awaiting an upgraded experience on their devices, many of whom call Canada home. No specific release date has been given so far, however Samsung had made it known at the IFA trade show earlier this year that their consumers world round would soon get the new Operating System, Jelly Bean.

Later reports from Samsung hinted at a timeline, with an announcement stating that, “the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system will be available on the Galaxy S3 from October.” Unluckily, this announcement was country specific, so Canadians again had to wait patiently for their turn to test the new Android 4.1.

In a recent update on their social website account, Samsung Canada finally provided more clarity to the matter by pronouncing that Canadians will get their hands on the latest version of Android sometime “before the holidays!” This means that owners of Samsung’s Galaxy Note and S III in Canada will have it either in November or December of this year.

Till any further updates of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean release date in Canada, Samsung users in the country can cherish the worldwide sales numbers of the Galaxy S III and Note devices that the company had declared recently. According this report, Samsung has sold more than 20 million units of the Galaxy S III and it will cross the 30 million mark at the end of 2012. This means that an incredible 200,000 units of the Galaxy S III were sold by each day since the device’s release. On the other hand, 10 million units of the Galaxy Note had been sold by Samsung around the globe, with its latest iteration, the Note II set for its debut later this year.
