Almost exactly one year ago, Korean smartphone giant Samsung introduced a hybrid smartphone tablet that featured a stylus called S-Pen. The device went on to become popular with consumers, critics and industry experts alike prompting the company to introduce a second generation yesterday at IFA, the same event the original device was launched at.
The phone’s specs are as follows:
– a 5.5” display featuring a 1280 x 720 resolution (267 ppi)
– 1.6 GHz quadcore Exynos processor and 2 GB RAM
– various storage options at 16 GB (same as Note), 32 GB and 64 GB as well as a SD slot
– 3,100 mAh battery
– Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
– improved S-Pen featuring a more ergonomic design as well as the ability to preview files and emails by hovering over the document (Air View)
The device is expected to launch in Europe, Asia and the Middle East this October. There is no word yet regarding North American launch dates and availability, although Business Insider suspects it will be at the end of this year.
The Note II seems to be an absolute beast, and we suspect that many current Note owners will be tempted to upgrade to the larger more feature rich version of their phone.
