Samsung Galaxy S IV is not a secret anymore and soon it is expected to be made available for sale in different parts of the world, including India. According to the latest update, the flagship device from Samsung is likely to be released in India in early May. The exact date for launch in India is not out yet, but late April and early May is the time when Galaxy S IV seems to be heading out across various markets in the world. However, April 26th seems to be the earliest date when S IV will be released on the U.K.’s EE. The Indian version of Galaxy S IV is likely to be similar to the US edition and should feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor. It will also boast the homegrown Exynos 5 Octa processor from Samsung. This means that the smartphone will not have LTE connectivity and it will be just limited to 3G. Nevertheless, later during the year it is expected that a TDD/FDD LTE variant of the S IV may be released in the region. Moreover, out of three editions of Galaxy S IV only the 16GB version of the handset will be launched in India.
It cannot be said for sure that whether the 32GB and 64GB editions of Galaxy S IV will be released later in India, but customers can extend the storage capacity of the 16GB version by adding a microSD card on the device. As far as other specs of the S IV are concerned, they will be pretty much the same as you will find in the US and other markets.
Without contracts, customers in India will be able to get the Galaxy S IV at a price between 40,000 to 45,000 or $740 to $834, whereas subsidized pricing is anticipated with telecom carrier signed contracts. Airtel and Vodafone will be the two telecom carriers that will make the handset available to their customers.
Since Sony has launched its flagship smartphone the Xperia Z and HTC has also rolled out its brand new model HTC One in India , Samsung Galaxy S IV will have to face some serious competition, as the two handsets also possesses incredible designs and specs. So it will be interesting to see which of the three smartphones will be able to grasp more market share in the country than others, as India is one of the largest consumer markets in the world.
