South Korean electronics and consumer goods manufacturer, Samsung Electronics, continues to grow its presence in countries like Canada in order to take on global competition. The latest move from the company was announced on Wednesday, June 19 when Samsung Electronics Canada stated that it would be opening a Samsung Service Centre in Ontario which will be the first of its kind in the Canadian province.

Samsung’ brand new walk-in service centre is expected to boost the customers service and interaction being provided to consumers in Canada. The recently announced Samsung Service Centre is located in Mississauga. The Heartland Town Centre will be very similar to other Samsung centers that are currently operational in Vancouver and Montreal. Samsung’s first Canadian retail location is in Burnaby, British Columbia but is not specifically meant for customer interaction like the Service Centres.

Frank Martino, Director of Samsung Canada’s Service Division, said on the occasion that, “Our Canadian consumers are telling us they want a direct relationship with the manufacturers creating the devices they can’t live without. Our walk-in service centres are an extension of our commitment to customer service excellence. We’re thrilled to offer this service to customers in the community Samsung Canada has called home for 25 years.”

The reason for the Samsung Service Centre in Ontario is to allow customers of the brand to walk in and get the help they need with their devices. Consumers will also be able to get one-hour repair service, extended warranty options, support and accessories. The center will deal with all types of Samsung products including smartphones, tablets, TV and other electronics devices. The center will also employ product technicians to to give current and potential clients product information and insight.

Samsung is currently the leading seller of smartphones in the world but lags behind Apple in key areas like the US where the California based firm is very dominant. However, the Android based devices from Samsung have started to make a name for themselves in the US and other countries with the Galaxy brand of devices. In Canada, the company not only has to take on the Apple juggernaut, they also have to deal with popular home grown smartphone manufacturer BlackBerry. For the time being all numbers show Samsung doing well as its number grow in Canada and the US. To keep up with the demand and also customer needs, the Korean firms foot print in Canada and the US should increase with more Service centers and stores.
