Popular online audio distributing website, SoundCloud announced on Tuesday of last week that they had introduced a revamped and updated version of their website. With this move, the latest version of SoundCloud became available to all users.

This was not the first time that SoundCloud has declared changes to their site, as the audio distribution website has already made tweaks earlier this year. However, at that time, the latest version of SoundCloud was made available to limited users only. Now it has become a default layout that offers better features overall including new search, discovery, recommendation and automatic “Follows” for artists and bands that a user approves of on other websites like Facebook.

SoundCloud made this announcement at the LeWeb event in Paris, where company CEO Alexander Ljung went through the latest features for the brand new site live in front of the audience. During the session, Ljung has also covered the new repost feature and the capability to curate collections of recordings that users want to share.

The CEO of SoundCloud also divulged on this occasion that the users of their service are now uploading 10 hours of audio and music each minute, while reaching out to 180 million people across the world each month.

This massive figure depicts that SoundCloud has a strong following and the Berlin and San Francisco based startup is getting closer to turn its dream of becoming the ‘YouTube of audio’ into reality, as this service now claims to reach 8 percent of the total internet population during each month.

For now however, SoundCloud is looking to enhance this percentage, as they rolled out their mobile apps for both Android and iOS users on December 6. These mobile apps are also packed with latest features that you will find on their site.
