However, computer security company, Kaspersky Labs, has recently launched a software that helps users locate where their stolen or lost device is by taking pictures of unauthorised users, using GPS or nearby WiFi. Also, the owner by accessing their device can completely delete or wipe their personal information.
The mobile security software not only help one locate a lost or stolen device, but also at the same time this software takes pictures of the thief from the secondary camera and upload them on the website of the control center that is registered with the phone’s user.
Business Development Manager of Kaspersky Labs SEA, Philippines Bryan Sat said during the launch of the software, via Technology Inquirer:
“Filipino users are very vulnerable to threats that come with mobile device ownership—theft or loss of device as well as real malware threats. Smartphone and tablet users now need to understand that safeguarding their device is critical and they have to do it now.”
One must look into crime prevention tips to keep their smartphone and tablet safe and protected. Being careful on your part is also necessary. You should not keep your phone in public areas alone where someone can easily steal it. Make sure your devices are protected by a password known only to you. Avoid giving your phone to strangers. If there is some emergency, ask them to call the emergency service on their behalf.
