Canadian startup HailO has teamed up with Molson Coors Canada to offer the residents of Toronto safe passage home after a night out with friends. The partnership is an effort by the two companies to make the upcoming holiday season a safe one for Toronto residents by giving one million dollars in taxi fares at $10 increments for 100 licensed establishments all around Toronto. The initiative started on November 28 and will last until January 9th 2013.

President of Hailo Canada, Justin Raymond, states that, “At Hailo, we make it easy to get home from any holiday gathering – allowing anyone to hail and pay for a taxi with two taps on the screen of their smartphone. And now, we’re making it easier on the wallet, too. We want to make it simple for people to choose the safe way home after a holiday celebration.”

Carole Berry the Lead for Molson Coors Canada’s Corporate Responsibility Programming also talked about the effort and stated that, “Safe travel becomes much more important during the holidays. At Molson Coors, we’re committed to helping consumers make responsible choices about having a good time. We’re proud to play our part by encouraging every Torontonian to plan a safe ride home with Hailo.”

Users can participate in the program and their free $10 for a Hailo taxi ride by downloading and installing the Hailo mobile app, which is available for both Android powered smartphones and iPhone. After registering and adding a credit card, users will need to enter the promo code ONEMILLION. Kudos to photo parties and here’s hoping their initiative bears fruit.
