TELUS made it known on Wednesday, August 28th that it has launched its 4G LTE network in Swift Current that is located in Saskatchewan. With the introduction of 4G LTE network the residents of the Canadian city of Swift Current will now be able to enjoy fast wireless services from the Canadian telecom provider, TELUS. However, this was not the first carrier which has offered a 4G LTE network in the city, as roughly two weeks ago another carrier SaskTel, which has signed an LTE-sharing agreement with TELUS, launched LTE in the city. Therefore, it was imminent that TELUS will soon offer LTE in Swift Current.

On this occasion TELUS issued a press release in which the company said that its “blazing fast 4G LTE service now covers almost 80 per cent of the Canadian population across approximately 200 markets.” And now residents of Swift Current will also be able to enjoy much faster internet with its LTE service.  The 4G LTE is an evolution in the wireless network technology of TELUS, which company managed to achieve in 2009 after launching its 4G HSPA wireless network service.

Below are a few excerpts from the official press release of TELUS, which gives more insight about the launch:

“We’re pleased our customers in Swift Current are now among the more than 27 million Canadians who can enjoy access to the world’s fastest wireless technology from TELUS,” said Brent Johnston, vice-president, TELUS Mobility Solutions. “We continue to invest in expanding and improving our network service, community by community across Saskatchewan. Now, with our new TELUS Network Experience app, customers can help us invest in their service by easily providing network feedback while on-the-go through their mobile devices for the ultimate network experience.”

4G LTE is the new standard for wireless technology around the world, with most new handsets built to take advantage of its superior speed. TELUS customers can already experience the full capabilities of TELUS’ 4G LTE network service on popular devices such as the recently launched Samsung GALAXY S4, BlackBerry Q10, HTC One, and BlackBerry Z10. Other LTE-enabled devices in TELUS’ lineup include: Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung GALAXY Note II, Samsung Rugby LTE, Samsung ATIV S, LG Optimus G, HTC One X+, as well as the Huawei E397 4G LTE Mobile Internet Key and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE.”
