Boasting over 5 million clients spread over 130 countries, cloud accounting service FreshBooks has become the number one such provider in North America. According to an official letter from CEO Mike McDerment, the path to prominence has been neither quick nor easy. The company has seen tremendous growth over the past 15 months, doubling their user base over that time.

FreshBooks targets their cloud based service towards service-based professionals. This includes the likes of lawyers, marketing agencies, skill trade workers and plenty of other job types that invoice based on service and hours.

In their relentless pursuit of customer satisfaction, FreshBooks has introduced a new iPhone app. This app will allow users to do everything they need to manage their accounting from their mobile device. According to FreshBook’s blog, the new app is in line with the company’s vision of allowing clients to work from literally anywhere and anytime.

Among other functions, the app will allow you to photograph a receipt and attach it to an expense within your records, a feature that FreshBooks introduced in June of this year (TQ was on it). This function allows for the rebilling of expenses to clients as well. The app also allows clients with billable hours to track time spent on projects and use that information to automatically invoice clients immediately. Last but not least, the company whose beginnings began with simplifying and beautifying invoices for small businesses allows invoicing as well as the ability to accept online payments no matter where you are.

If you feel that FreshBooks could help your burgeoning enterprise, we encourage you to try it out. The company is currently offering a 30 free trial for those looking to improve the way they run their business.
