TQ App Review – Slices for Twitter

If you are a Twitter addict, you most certainly have been following a bevy of people on the social network, hoping at least half of them would follow you in return (if, of course, you are not a celebrity already having millions of followers). While Twitter tries to keep things as simple as possible by even restricting users from composing large messages, following a large number of people certainly messes things up for users who at times are unable to absorb the load of tweets on their screens at a given time. A number of apps have been developed to make this simple social network even simpler and Slices for Twitter is one of them. Available for both iOS and Android, this app is free, with a paid pro version available as well.

What’s good?

This app significantly assists users in managing their Twitter profile. Slices for Twitter offers a feature ‘Slice’ that allows you to categorize your feeds. Now you can create a slice and get only a limited number of feeds even if you are following a large number of people on the network. Moreover, a prominent feature of this app is its ability to feature live events. Through this app, you can specifically follow an event as it is happening and see what people are saying about the event. It also allows users to use their Slices account from their desktop as well as smartphones and syncs the data.

What’s not?

This app does have an easy-to-handle interface, but there have been some reports of display errors. Although the app works fine most of the time, it sometimes falls victim to crashes. Moreover, it is available for free, but the price of its pro version is just a touch on the higher side at $4.99.

Our Take

If you regularly use Twitter and follow many people this app will certainly help you manage your timeline significantly, but if you are an occasional visitor or does not follow a lot of people on the social network you might not want to use this app quite often.
