What’s good?
The visual display is pretty decent and lifelike. Moreover, the app comes with some additional features beyond just presenting details about any given object in the sky. The innovative Time Machine features allow users to see how a star would look at any given time (past and future). You can also get amazing pictures from deep space daily and social media integration is easily integrated as well. Furthermore, you will not need to have an internet connection to operate this app.
What’s not?
The app allows you to explore space, but tells details only about natural objects there. So if you are looking for any manmade objects up in the space you will be disappointed. As fascinating as the app seems, it lacks precision, which is acceptable for those who are genuinely interested in exploring space. However, those who will use this app just for fun might not want to use it again and again given that it is a ‘one trick pony’ of sorts.
Our Take
This is one of the best educational apps available however it appeals mostly to a specific audience. You must have some interest and curiosity with respect to knowing what’s happening in the sky in order to use this app effectively. If you do have these interests however you will likely be very fond of this app as it is a fantastic way to get kids into stars and space. Still, it wouldn’t harm anyone to give this app a chance at this price point. We certainly enjoyed using it.
