Ever faced the problem of friends or family repeatedly calling or texting you up to check where you are or how much time will it take you to reach your destination?
Now Ford owners can say goodbye to those problems after the Detroit car manufacturer signed an exclusive agreement with social sharing experts Glympse.
The partnership has led to Ford’s sync enabled cars to share their location with friends or family through the Glympse app.
Using Ford’s innovative AppLink smartphone hands free system, users can now update anyone pestering them about their location by simply using voice control. All a user has to do is command the car to “Send a Glympse” with the recipient able to check the location and ETA using Glympse’s website which is so easy to use even your mom won’t have any problems.
Worried about privacy and stalkers?
There is no reason to worry as the Glympse application stops updating after a specific time period, while only those who you want to see your location and when you want them to, receive the updates so there is no issue of managing friends or other complex permissions that plague other “social applications”.
Ford users with Glympse do not have to stop their car to text or call back and can easily share their location with worried family members or friends by just a simple voice command.
Even though the idea is not brand new, this application is currently the best out there and if successful it won’t be a surprise to see other car manufacturers wanting to get a piece of the action.
