Holidays are approaching fast and with it people are also laying out their vacation plans quite swiftly. Taking advantage of this situation Berlin, Germany-based startup Triposo has launched the latest edition of its free travel guide app for iOS devices, so people can make the best use of their mobile travel guide to spend excellent time during these holidays.

Founder of Triposo, Douwe Osinga said, “Triposo may not be able to save you from fighting with in-laws or drinking too much eggnog, but it can help you make the most of your travels with new ideas about what to do in your hometown during the holiday season.”

Triposo’s latest update of its iOS app features both maps and information for over 8,000 destinations across the world. Users can acquire information about the eating spots in a city or what to do in a town. Since it considers user’s location, real-time information (like weather) and preferences to make travel more easy for people.

Of these 8,000 destinations, 5,000 are small towns in America, as the developers of this app have dished up downloads for every state separately. This indicates that Triposo’s app developers that used to work for Google have concentrated more on the United States of America in this latest update.

In spite of this fact, the travel guide app of this Berlin, Germany-based startup has been downloaded over 2.5 million times and the reason behind this high demand was not only its top features, but also because this startup has catered to both Android and iOS devices by releasing specific version for each platform.

In addition to this, it is the same smart approach from Triposo that enabled this app developer to successfully secure roughly $4.7 million in funding up till now with the help of investors like Chris Sacca, InterWest, CrunchFund and Lars Rasmussen.
