After opening its latest office in South Korea, it looks as if micro-blogging website, Twitter is now planning to open its next work place in Australia. According to recent reports, top Twitter executives are flying to Australia, where they will meet with sporting bodies, media organizations and top users of their social media website down under.
Interestingly all these activities are taking place at a time when rumours of Twitter opening a new office in Australia are swirling. Unsurprisingly, such activities have done little to quell any of those rumours.
It was also learnt that these Twitter executives will attend a “secret” event organised by this micro-blogging website that took place on Tuesday in Melbourne with the guest list including the top Twitter users in Australia. Twitter’s Head of International Development, Mike Brown along with various members of his team will be “sharing valuable Twitter insights and case studies,” at this event.
Aside from Brown, other prominent participants from Twitter in this event will be Omid Ashtari, who is the Head of Sports and Entertainment team and his co-worker Jenna Mannos. Both these personalities will make an appearance through a video feed. Sports Geek’s Sean Callanan and Francis Leach from ABC will host this “secret” event and the cost to attend this prestigious affair will be $59. Apart from this “secret” event it is anticipated that Brown will also go to other meetings in Sydney and Melbourne.
The main cause for conducting all these activities was that Australia has grabbed the attention of Twitter with 1.4 million daily tweets. Don’t say we didn’t warn you about a new Twitter office in Australia and the impending media and celebrity collaborations that will take place as a result.
