The two new versions of the Apple iPhone will be in the market sometime next month as the company has asked its supplier of Taiwan to begin shipping of the two new iPhones by September, 2013, including one that has low cost, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision, the parent company of Foxconn in China, is now planning to introduce a less expensive iPhone with some new upgrades and fewer features, said by the Journal citing unnamed sources.

Apple has scheduled a September 10 event, a date when it will finally introduce its new iPhone in the market, according to different reports. This is the date that has already marked by many of iPhone lovers on their calenders. This iPhone is part of an effort to regain the mobile market which Apple has lost after the launch of Samsung Galaxy S4, according to the news site AllThingsD, part of the same company as The Journal.

Apple and Samsung will unveil their smartphones and other devices, including a smartwatch, back to back. Apple in order to attract more customers needs to lower down its prices, especially in emerging markets, so that it can easily grab the entire market.

The shares of Apple fell to 14.2%, while on the other hand the shares of Samsung rose to 31.7% in the smartphone market globally in the second quarter of this year, said Gartner in its recent survey. Gartner said, “The Google Android operating system was used on 79 percent of smartphones sold in the period.”
