Everyone’s favourite company named after a fruit has released the first set of ads for its latest and greatest device, the iPhone 5. The commercials have been done by Apple’s long time ad agency TBWA/Media Arts Lab.
The first of the ads began airing in the U.S. on Friday evening last week, the device’s launch date. The ads come at a time when rival brand Samsung has openly declared war on the latest Apple smartphone with print and film ads that take direct shots at fans waiting in line for the iPhone 5 as well as the device’s specs as compared to the Korean firm’s Galaxy S III device (TQ was on it).
The three ads are included below and in typical Apple fashion are short, visually spectacular and allow the product to speak for itself.
The first video, entitled ‘Thumb’ explains the idea behind the device’s increased size and its relation to the radial sweep of the thumb.
The second video features an iOS 6 addition that comes with the device, the ability to take high quality panorama shots easily.
The final video , entitled ‘Physics’ is more along the lines of past Apple ads, featuring the beautiful exterior of the phone and its unique dimensions that are both larger (screen size) and smaller (thickness) than previous models.
