Wantering, a Canadian technology company, has been working for the past 18 months to make online shopping easier and more convenient for Canadians. It has been seen that shopping in the US is a lot simpler and retailers provide a number of facilities to attract customers and to help make the shopping experience less stressful.

In an article for TechVibes, Wantering’s Kathleen Ong says that, “What Canadians would call luxuries—free shipping and returns, next day delivery, and duty-free purchases—our American counterparts enjoy from almost every major online fashion retailer.”

Ong goes on to state that, there has been great growth in the online shopping world and now HBC has acquired Saks Inc, which is a US retailer. US online shopping sites, Saks.com and Nordstrom.com will soon be providing their services to Canadian customers and this will largely change the online shopping scenario. Therefore, it is important to have a Canadian online search company as well.

“The e-commerce industry is ripe for disruption by technology. Wantering is focused on making product search a better experience. When you think of where to go online to search for a pair of oxford shoes, a dress for a wedding you’re attending, or to see what’s on sale from your favorite brand, where’s the first place you look? Instead of opening up multiple e-commerce sites in your browser or trying to do a search on Google Shopping (or worse, Nextag or Shopzilla), you can actually search and shop for fashion across a curated list of boutiques, flash sales sites, and major retailers all in one place on Wantering.”

So basically Wantering is developing new technologies to make the online shopping experience better and hassle free for customers. There are other Canadian businesses that are also serving the same function in their own way. These include Frank and Oak which is based in Montreal and is committed to providing services from designing clothes to delivering the chosen clothes to customers every month. Another online company, Indochino has a similar business and their main focus is making the right sized suits available to everyone. In this way we can see how these companies are working hard to simplify the process of selecting the right clothes and taking care of delivery and other concerns that customers face.

Similarly, Wantering is involved in using technology to help people find the best place to buy what they want, get the best deals, find the right sizes and styles and improve the Canadian experience of shopping and bring it closer to the American way.
