What Reviewers Have to Say About New BlackBerry?

While the users will need some time to get their hands on the new BlackBerry smartphones (some more time if you are getting it from the U.S. markets), some analysts were lucky to get hold of the phone a few days before its launch that was staged in six different cities of the world at the same time yesterday.

The reviewers have so far given a mixed response to the new BlackBerry phone, which, in most cases, is entirely different from its predecessors. Two models of the phone, Z10 and Q10, were introduced by the company formerly known as Research in Motion. The company that has taken up the name of its signature product, BlackBerry, will first release the Z10 version in the market, while the Q10 version will reach the market after it.

The Z10 model has 4.2 inch, 1280 x 768 display, whereas the Q10 has a smaller screen. The unique aspect of the new BlackBerry phone is its service called BlackBerry Balance. Targeting the corporate customers, this service allows a user to balance their personal and official work. A user only has to swipe to get his business or personal screen on. The rest of the aspects, as per initial reviews, are attractive, but not new. The Z10 has features that many other smartphones already have.

Charles Arthur of The Guardian writes:

“For the average consumer, though, the Z10 is just another black mirror when locked and just another touchscreen phone when unlocked. The Q10 has a small screen, so won’t be such a consumer hit.”

Talking about the consumers that turned to other smartphones after BlackBerry failed to deliver, Joanna Stern of ABC News writes:

“BlackBerry 10 and the Z10 are the right steps, but it’s going to take even more for it to bring those users back.”

One of the positives that nearly every reviewer has highlighted is the keyboard, which, by far, has remained BlackBerry’s most attractive feature even in its previous models.
