TQ recently updated its readers that Finnish mobile maker, Nokia is all set to introduce a 10.1-inch Windows-based tablet in the coming days and it is referred as ‘Sirius’, which seems more like a code name for the product. In addition to this, we also divulged that just Samsung, Sony, LG and most probably HTC, now Nokia is also expected to roll out a 6-inch phablet that will also be powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS. Latest reports suggest that the official name of this 6-inch device will be Nokia Lumia 1520. Now a new image has appeared online that is showing a big Nokia device along with a Lumia handset and the best guess is that it’s the first leaked render of the Windows phablet.
WPCentral was the first to make this guess after the leaked image of Nokia Lumia 1520 surfaced online. Moreover, the report also echoed the same details that TQ has shared earlier, as it says that the 1520 will be running the latest version of Windows Phone 8, GDR3 and it will have a 1080p display. In addition, the report also claimed that the 6-inch phablet of Nokia will come in a traditional polycarbonate body just like the current range of Lumia handsets and it will sport a 20-megapixel PureView camera, while the processor on the device will be a quad-core Snapdragon.
However, so far it unclear when Nokia is going to launch Lumia 1520 and whether the Finnish manufacturer will ship the competitor of Samsung Galaxy Note III, Sony Xperia Z Ultra and LG Optimus G Pro to Canada. But initial rumours indicate that AT&T is likely to carry the 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520, as it will make the handset available till November. So there is also a possibility that TELUS or Rogers may also offer the phablet to their customers in Canada. Still all these are just rumours and so far they have not received any confirmation therefore they should e taken not more than just a grain of salt.
As far as the validity of leaked image of Lumia 1520 is concerned it seems quite credible and more importantly various sources have confirmed that Nokia has developed such a device. Let’s see now when the Finnish company will officially announce its first phablet and how it will be able to capture the market in the presence a number of other phablets.
