Canadian social data analytics firm Nexalogy has announced that it has partnered with rising Canadian technology startup HootSuite to offer a new app that offers users a social media visualizer tool.

In the announcement, Nexalogy CEO Claude Théoret, says that, “We are excited to be taking part in the expansion of HootSuite’s capabilities, and it’s great to work with another Canadian firm on the cutting edge. We’ve been working hard to develop more intelligent ways of handling the onslaught of information in our social media feeds. Our software helps people get to the heart of what matters.”

The new app is based on Nexalogy’s NexaMe feature, which is similar to the company’s other solutions, all of which are meant for professionals and scientists that need social data analysis. The recently added feature to HootSuite is meant to provide “maximum amount of analysis with a minimum amount of configuration.” The tool does this by looking at social media streams to pick up on major trends and ideas. Using social graphs and interest maps, the application avoids social media overload by mining only what is truly important.

The customers that utilize HootSuite will now be able to dissect their Twitter feed like never before. They will be able to create a rich interest graph from their Twitter feeds and will also be able to check out nodes that will visually show the relationship between concepts. A connector tab will allow the user to pinpoint the most active users as well as who is being re-tweeted the most.

Théoret explains that, “Listing hundreds of tweets can make you spend time trying to see the forest one tree at a time. Only surfacing the most important signals doesn’t allow you to understand new trends or important dynamics within your community.”

HootSuite and Nexalogy have seen impressive growth and acclaim in the past year. Some awards for Nexalogy include “best demo table in the first annual International Start-up Festival; Fifth place in 2011’s CIX Top 20; selected by Price Waterhouse Cooper in a technology forecast as the tool for social media and business intelligence; and selected by Sympatico News to fuel their entire news section.” Interestingly the company is “the only business named in last year’s CIX Top 20 without having Series A funding.” With only $600,000 of funding the company has starting producing positive revenue since mid-2012.
