Research in Motion, the Canada based maker of the famous BlackBerry smartphones is gearing up for what analysts perceive is the last roll of the dice by the company to regain lost market share. The phone maker is expected to announce the launch date of its new BlackBerry 10 line of smartphones soon which will become the biggest and most awaited device release of the new year.

The release of BlackBerry 10 devices by RIM have been eagerly awaited by technology watchers but the Canadian smartphone manufacturer has faced great delays in releasing its newest offering to consumers. The company also missed out on the 2012 holiday season which resulted in big revenues for its competitors.

However, RIM has spent that time fine tuning its release of BB10 which the company hopes will help it regain its previous strong footing in the smartphone market. RIM has already started signing deals with carriers across the globe to provide the device to consumers.

At CES 2013 taking place in Las Vegas, it was revealed by executives of America’s three big carriers that they have signed agreements with RIM to carry the device. AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile are the three companies that will push the phone to consumers at launch while it won’t be surprising to see Sprint as well carrying the new BB10 devices.

According to RIM the 150 carriers across the globe are currently testing out the new BB10 devices with the company hoping to push the phone to all carriers rather than signing exclusivity agreements. To attract carriers as well as consumers RIM has also been working with application developers to further develop its app ecosystem.

The phone maker expects almost 70,000 applications to be available for consumers when the device is officially launched on January 30.

BB10 is a final push by RIM to regain lost ground and the firm has been making all the right moves to ensure that it meets its goals.
