QNX has lately stepped up the marketing for its car platform technology moving from the normally used Porsche 911 to a Bentley Continental GT which the company put up for display at CES 2013 in Las Vegas.

The company has a long history of delivering innovative in-car electronics solutions and showcased its latest offering the QNX Car application platform 2.0 to visitors which was integrated in the Bentley. Showcasing QNX’s desire to help customers develop the “Connected Cockpit” of tomorrow the Bentley featured a centre stack delivering full high definition graphics.

With optical input technology, the screen provides all features required to help deliver the perfect driving experience. The car application platform has a built in media player, a virtual mechanic as well as supports 3D navigation.

If that is not enough to get you excited the Bentley also features smartphone support, voice control and much much more as well as being fully customisable to suit all requirements making it a true technological marvel.

Speaking about the concept Derek Kuhn, vice president of sales and marketing, QNX Software Systems in a press release said:

“Consumers have become conditioned by the rapid evolution of mobile devices, and the QNX CAR application platform was expressly designed to help automotive companies address those time-to-market expectations – while maintaining automotive-grade reliability and performance.”

The voice recognition on the vehicle is truly unique while also allowing hands free control of all features.

QNX system is the future of driving and it will not be a surprise to see such high tech gadgetry in upcoming vehicles of the world’s top car makers.
